Presentation Delivered at Concierge Shanghai's 'Connecting Business Forum'

On 25 June 2026, NTT Communications China delivered a presentation at the 'Connected Business Forum' organised by Concierge Shanghai. Aimed at senior management and IT personnel from Japanese companies operating in China, the seminar was held under the theme 'Proactive AI and Defensive Security: Strengthening Business Operations in China through the Dual Pillars of IT' and attracted a large number of participants.

NTT Communications China was responsible for one of the three presentation segments. Drawing on practical experience in the local market, the company discussed 'Proactive AI Utilisation'—essential for Japanese companies to succeed in the Chinese market—and 'Defensive Security'—necessary to ensure the continued safe use of AI.

To Succeed in the Chinese Market: AI is currently evolving from 'chatbots' that merely answer questions to 'digital workers' that think for themselves and carry out tasks. In China, practical applications are already advancing across a wide range of fields—including demand forecasting and factory control in manufacturing, and AI-powered recommendations in retail—creating a significant gap in the pace of AI adoption compared to Japanese companies.

During the presentation, we introduced successful case studies from the NTT Group, such as AI-assisted interviews for new graduate recruitment and the automation of security operations, whilst outlining a concrete roadmap for transforming AI from a 'tool that waits for instructions' into an 'autonomous partner'.

Ensuring the continued safe use of AI. Meanwhile, attackers are also beginning to utilise AI. Tactics such as zero-day attacks and prompt injection are becoming increasingly sophisticated and rapid, and we have entered an era where traditional countermeasures alone are no longer sufficient.

Furthermore, the risk of data leaks arising from employees inputting business data into AI services cannot be overlooked.

During the presentation, we introduced solutions such as 'Nexgent-S', which addresses these AI-specific risks, and 'JRISE', which enables senior management to monitor operational conditions and risks on the ground in real time. We also outlined an approach to driving digital transformation that balances both offensive and defensive strategies.

Following the presentation, we received numerous questions and enquiries from participants, and the event was very well received.
