On June 16 and 18, 2026, the “Global Cybersecurity Seminar” hosted by NTT Docomo Business Headquarters was held in Tokyo. Targeting IT and security professionals from Japanese enterprises operating in China, the seminar attracted numerous participants, primarily from Japanese companies conducting business in China.

Part 1: Latest Developments in China and Cutting-edge Security Measures
This section explained the latest trends in China’s three core data laws (Cybersecurity Law, Data Security Law, and Personal Information Protection Law), including the amendment to the Cybersecurity Law enacted in January 2026. It also analyzed the regulatory environment, which has shifted from the “system establishment phase” to the “full-scale enforcement and investigation phase.” Additionally, it introduced the trends of security incidents encountered by Japanese enterprises in China and security solutions optimized for the local Chinese context.
Part 2: Between Global Standards and China’s Unique Characteristics – The SASE Initiative for China-based Operations
Addressing the challenge of reconciling global SASE governance with China’s unique constraints (network quality, regulations, operational frameworks), this part proposed a third alternative: “unified governance” rather than “unified products.” It presented the concept of the NexSASE solution, which ensures global-level governance, policy consistency, and visibility while achieving optimized domestic communications in China and compliance with local laws and regulations.
Part 3: Cyber Risks and Countermeasures in China’s AI Era
This session examined the rapid adoption of AI in China and the associated security risks from two dimensions: “Security-for-AI (protecting AI systems)” and “AI-for-Security (enhancing security through AI).” It introduced a countermeasure framework for AI-specific threats and shared NTT Communications China’s initiatives in developing AI-powered next-generation Security Operations Centers (SOC).
The seminar received exceptionally positive evaluations from attendees:
- High recognition for practical on-site insights: Beyond the latest regulatory updates, many participants praised that firsthand information based on the practical experience of local stationed staff delivered actionable value that theory alone cannot provide.
- Deep insights into AI and governance: The seminar prompted many participants to reevaluate their own companies’ approaches to AI utilization and corporate governance under China’s unique operational environment.
- Strong demand for continued events: Numerous participants expressed expectations for future seminars focusing specifically on China’s IT and cybersecurity trends.
